The South Beach's design honors a distinctive, rectangular case shape (aka "Tank") that was born during the Age of Art Deco and endures to this day. A tribute to geometric shapes and patterns, the vertical troughs of the case mimic many of the façades of the historic neighborhood’s iconic structures with their concave, convex and angular details.
Named to honor the infamous Riptide Club that opened in 1937 and quickly became known as a place where mobsters mixed with film stars, and politicians with business tycoons. The South Beach - Riptide's color palette is restrained and dignified. Evoking the scene of a smokey, Jazz filled nightclub, it features a grey dial with a reflective metallic hour track. The minute and seconds track is colored with a dark teal, while the sub-dial stands out in mix of ivory and beige.
For a more refined look, this watch is paired with a light beige sailcloth strap that is durable and water reistant, perfect from going from the beach to the club. For the traditionalist, we also offer a milanese/mesh bracelet and two straps in black: Saffiano leather and textured rubber. Those straps will be in the shop soon.
