"A great job of producing a handsome watch right out of the gate."
"A nice break from the sea of modern designs. There's a lot to like."
"A presence on the wrist as distinct as its dynamic, tuxedo-esque dial."
"Nothing in this price range to compare it to. Add a few thousand and maybe."
"That fabulous stepped bezel. Lovely."
Not just worn.
Remembered.
The men who wear The Eastern don't need to announce themselves. They walk into a room and something about them is simply different — a quiet confidence that doesn't ask for permission.
This watch isn't about status. It's about leaving something behind. A standard. A story. Something your son will one day fasten to his own wrist and feel the weight of who you were.
Powered by a Swiss automatic movement, assembled by hand, limited in number — because the things worth owning always are.
The building that
inspired everything.
On September 12, 1930, a thirteen-story tower rose above Broadway in downtown Los Angeles — clad in turquoise terracotta tiles, trimmed in gold, crowned with a clock tower that read simply: EASTERN.
The Eastern Columbia Building was more than a department store. It was a statement. That beauty belongs in everyday life. That the objects surrounding you should inspire you — not merely function.
It has been called "the benchmark of Art Deco buildings in Los Angeles" and "one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the city." Ninety-five years later, we put its spirit on your wrist.
Art Deco Architecture
for your wrist.
Blue and gold
Various shades of blue terracotta tile of the Eastern Columbia Building inform the dial's two shades of blue (navy and baby blue). While the gold hands, stepped hour markers and Art Deco numerals are inspired by the touches of gold seen across the building's vestibule and clock tower.
The Sector Dial
A second set of baton hour markers composed of white, Swiss Super - Luminova® bring visually pleasing symmetry to the dial. They are also meant to reflect the clock tower’s glowing, white neon in the night sky.
Stepped Hour Indices
Perhaps the most Art Deco element of the Eastern is also its smallest. The eigth applied, PVD-gold indices are a series of three concentric circles, stacked one on top of the other. They are beautiful objects in and of themselves and give the dial depth.
Swiss Automatic Movement
Beneath the dial lies a Swiss automatic movement with a custom-engraved rotor bearing the words Time Worth Remembering. Assembled by hand. ~38 hours of power reserve. Built to last generations — because that was always the intention.
Sapphire Crystal
The building's extensive amount of glass windows were designed to help inspire shoppers. The Eastern features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal — the most scratch resistant glass in the industry, so you too can be inspired by a dial that perfectly balances sport and glamour.
Limited Numbers
The Eastern Columbia Building is now home to 147 residences. The Eastern watch is produced in strictly limited numbers — individually numbered. The things truly worth owning are always finite.
He doesn't need to
announce himself.
He walks into a room and something shifts. Not because of noise — because of presence. A quiet confidence that doesn't ask for permission and doesn't need approval.
He buys things once. He chooses well. He understands that a watch is not a gadget — it is the one object on his body every single day, and it should say something true about who he is.
He is thinking about what he leaves behind. A standard. A story. Something his son will one day fasten to his own wrist and feel the weight of who his father was.
That is the man who wears The Eastern.
